Noida-based graphite electrode manufacturer HEG Ltd has received approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Indore Bench, for its Composite Scheme of Arrangement with HEG Graphite Ltd and Bhilwara Energy Ltd. The demerger will result in two independently listed companies. Under the scheme, shareholders of HEG Ltd will receive one share of HEG Graphite Ltd for every one HEG share held. The NCLT order was uploaded on its website on August 18, 2026. The scheme will become effective after the certified copy of the order is received and filed with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Cupid Ltd. reported a sharp jump in its June-quarter earnings, with consolidated net profit surging nearly 200% year-on-year as stronger operating margin and a more than 2.6-fold increase in revenue boosted profitability. The company's consolidated net profit rose to Rs 44.1 crore in the quarter ended June, compared with Rs 15 crore in the corresponding period last year, according to an exchange filing on Friday. Information technology stocks saw traders cut derivatives positions, with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd. and Coforge Ltd. among the counters showing declines in futures prices and open interest. TCS September futures slipped 0.11% to Rs 2,466.70 as open interest declined 0.12%. HCLTech September futures fell 0.18% to Rs 1,366.90, accompanied by a 0.18% drop in open interest. Shares of One97 Communications Ltd., the parent company of Paytm, are likely to remain in focus after early investor backers SAIF Partners and Elevation Capital decided to pare their holdings through a block deal worth around Rs 2,000 crore. The development confirms an NDTV Profit newsbreak, as the channel had reported on July 24 about the upcoming stake sale via the block deal route. According to sources, SAIF Partners and Elevation Capital will jointly sell 14.9 million shares, representing approximately 2.3% of Paytm's equity, through a block deal scheduled for August 4. The transaction is estimated to be worth around Rs 2,002 crore, making it one of the larger secondary share sales in the stock this year.
