Information technology stocks saw traders cut derivatives positions, with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., HCL Technologies Ltd. and Coforge Ltd. among the counters showing declines in futures prices and open interest. TCS September futures slipped 0.11% to Rs 2,466.70 as open interest declined 0.12%. HCLTech September futures fell 0.18% to Rs 1,366.90, accompanied by a 0.18% drop in open interest. Shares of One97 Communications Ltd., the parent company of Paytm, are likely to remain in focus after early investor backers SAIF Partners and Elevation Capital decided to pare their holdings through a block deal worth around Rs 2,000 crore. The development confirms an NDTV Profit newsbreak, as the channel had reported on July 24 about the upcoming stake sale via the block deal route. According to sources, SAIF Partners and Elevation Capital will jointly sell 14.9 million shares, representing approximately 2.3% of Paytm's equity, through a block deal scheduled for August 4. The transaction is estimated to be worth around Rs 2,002 crore, making it one of the larger secondary share sales in the stock this year. ABB India Ltd. has declared a bumper special dividend of Rs 90 per share with face value of Rs 2 each, after posting a modest uptick in its net profit for the second quarter of the calendar year 2026.  "This is to inform you that the Board of Directors of the Company at its Meeting held on July 31, 2026, declared a special dividend of Rs.90/- per share (Rupees Ninety only) i.e.(4500%) on 21,19,08,375 equity shares of face value of Rs.2/- each fully paid up for the financial year 2026," the company stated in an exchange filing.  Further, ABB India has set Friday, August 7, 2026 as the record date to determine the eligible shareholders for the dividend payout. The Bombay High Court canteen has been temporarily shut down following an inspection by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 30, NDTV reported. All food and beverage operations on the premises have been suspended until further notice. In a formal communication, the Bombay Bar Association (BBA) stated that dining services provided through its primary canteen and independent coffee vendor will remain closed to lawyers, litigants, and court visitors for the time being. However, the Association clarified that the decision to halt operations was taken voluntarily as a precautionary measure. DCB Bank Ltd. reported a 35.5% year-on-year rise in first-quarter net profit as lower provisions and improving asset quality offset pressure on margins. The private lender posted a net profit of Rs 213 crore for the quarter ended June 30, compared with Rs 157 crore a year earlier, according to an exchange filing on Friday. Net interest income rose 17.7% to Rs 684 crore from Rs 581 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Asset quality improved sequentially, with the gross non-performing asset ratio easing to 2.43% from 2.45% at the end of March, while the net NPA ratio declined to 0.84% from 0.89%. SBI Funds Management's stock market debut has turned years of employee stock ownership into substantial wealth, with 13 employees holding vested equity worth more than Rs 1 crore each at the IPO price of Rs 574 per share, according to the company's prospectus. The country's largest asset manager made a strong debut on Dalal Street on Tuesday. The stock listed at Rs 610 on the BSE, a premium of 6.27% over its issue price, while it opened at Rs 613.30 on the NSE, delivering a listing gain of about 7%. The biggest beneficiary of the company's employee stock ownership programme is Deputy Managing Director Devinder Pal Singh, whose 21.14 lakh vested shares are valued at around Rs 121 crore at the IPO price, the prospectus showed. Singh also holds unvested stock options that could be worth nearly Rs 30 crore if exercised in the future. All 16 workers trapped inside the under-construction Samardung tunnel in South Sikkim were safely rescued on Monday following a massive multi-agency operation, officials said. A landslide reportedly triggered a suspected gas leak inside the tunnel. The workers were trapped at Mamring near Rangpo, where the Samardung tunnel is being constructed for the Teesta Stage VI Hydroelectric Project. Officials said the incident occurred after a landslide affected a section of the tunnel, leading to a blockage and reports of hazardous gas accumulation, which hampered evacuation efforts and complicated rescue operations. Despite the challenging conditions inside the tunnel, rescue personnel successfully reached the trapped workers and evacuated all 16 to safety. Immediately after being rescued, the workers were taken to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Rangpo, where they underwent medical examinations and received necessary treatment. The relaxation, issued by the Maharashtra Home Department under Section 33 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, follows a request from the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), Mumbai, seeking permission for hospitality establishments to remain open for live screenings of the tournament finale.
